The next stage of the Twinning in Action project is a series of exchanges to Palestine: leaders’ training followed by exchanges of students, women, and young people (school students). These were delayed for some time while our main funder (Erasmus +) decided whether they were happy to allow exchanges to Palestine. Happily this was finally agreed so the first of the exchanges, a leaders’ training, took place in early February. This included people in several different UK-Palestine twinning groups (as well as people from Camden-Abu Dis of course, people joined representing twinning groups in Northampton- Al Bireh, Pendle-Beit Leed, Llanidloes- Assawiya (note these are groups that recently joined our Teachers in Action project) CADFA links groups (women, students, youth) to join their counterparts in Palestine. They looked at the responsibilities of leaders of twinning groups when organising and running exchanges and at ways to use media to keep groups in touch. Participants also looked at the different twinning links (with Beit Leed, Assawiya, Al Bireh as well as Beit Leed) and built action plans for the next period
We were delighted to have very positive feedback from the participants and in some cases from their twinning groups – see letter below from Northampton.
