Faced with the problems of Covid-19, CADFA isn’t currently organising actual visits between the two countries. We were sad to cancel (for the time being) our health workers’ visit to Palestine in March and our planned next youth visit to the Uk which we hoped would be happening now. We hope those will happen later. But in the meantime, we’ve found a very good second-best – virtual visits, though using Zoom instead of magic carpets…
Virtual visit to the UK happening now. We are really enjoying our Palestinian group visit to the UK, happening at the moment with no visas, no airfares and no aggravation at borders… They are (virtually) here in the UK, meeting many people, sampling UK towns, history and society, and contributing to public meetings (on Zoom) in each place they visit. “It’s very exciting,” they tell us – and we love having them here!
Next up is a virtual CADFA visit to Palestine, starting off in early August. A human rights visit led by Palestinians – like all CADFA visits to Palestine. We’re really looking forward to that, too, as are many friends across Palestine – visitors will meet people from Abu Dis (of course), Jerusalem, Hebron, Bethlehem, Ramallah, Nablus… Even a chance to sample the lovely food: you will have to make it yourself but we will arrange a cooking lesson! As with other CADFA visits, there is an opportunity to see many places and meet many people, but the aim is to increase your knowledge of the human rights situation in Palestine. There are still some places left – HERE is the application form. https://forms.gle/fz894BBgVDkQcekx5
