We’ve been drawing your attention for some time to the Israeli pressures on the Bedouin villages east of Abu Dis which they want to evacuate and demolish in order to expand their own settlements around Jerusalem. This is cruel, unfair, internationally illegal and amounts to ethnic cleansing – It emphasises strongly the apartheid of the Israeli occupation.
Today’s news and videos were appalling – the Israeli bulldozers moved in and Israelis beat civilians: men, women and children who were protesting in order to try to save their homes; arrested local people, internationals and human rights defenders. Today’s scenes were completely unacceptable.

Please do all you can to raise this with your representatives. The international attention has not so far stopped the Israelis but we must keep it up.
