CADFA have just finished. an amazing planning weekend which has drawn together optimistic people local to London and people from across the country for the discussions and planning for fantastic projects for this year. Our ears are not closed to the sounds of aggression and war across the world – we worry about Palestine and everywhere else – but we are carrying on with our work with a view to involving more people in working for human rights.
On Saturday morning, we had a meeting for local Camden and Islington volunteers. We looked at the stalls and events we have been doing locally and thought of some more! Watch this space 🙂
On Saturday afternoon, we had people from across the country in person as well as on Zoom at our first planning meeting for a women’s visit from Palestine for this summer. We are thinking of using a pattern that has worked very well in the past – time together in London and then several routes across the country to meet women in women’s centres and events – and perhaps a conference, all details to be confirmed. A name emerged – ‘Walking together’… Next steps are to establish our firm partners from a lot of interest (from groups from Newcastle to Cornwall!)
Sunday was a full planning day for the Beyond the Checkpoints youth visit from Palestine that will be happening in February. It was great to have our partners all together and look seriously at what we are trying to do.
Today we met with the partners from Wales in the Taith youth visit project that will involve Jordan, Palestine and Wales with CADFA as facilitator. It’s going to be a really interesting first.
In the next few days, we will have a Zoom meeting with Palestinian partners talking about next steps in the Beyond the Checkpoints project.
There’s so much to do and lots of room for you if you agree with CADFA’s aims and would like to help! More info from contact@cadfa.org
