Meetings with Palestinian women
It’s nearly time for our annual women’s visit from Palestine, a CADFA tradition since 2006! This year’s women’s visit starts 23rd March.
We’re looking forward to welcoming back
HIYAM ELAYAN, Director of the Saraya Centre in the Old City of Jerusalem
and RUBA IMAM, human rights lawyer based at Al Quds University Social Work Centre also in the Old City. They’re going to speak at the public meetings listed below, and at a number of local organisations too.
If your school/ college/ other organisation would be interested in hosting them, do let us know fast. We also would appreciate your help leafleting for/ publicising/ helping at your local event from the list below…
Public meetings during the women’s visit from Palestine: Celebrating International Women’s Day with Palestinian guests – food/ music/ speakers from Jerusalem
SUNDAY 24th afternoon – Hackney
MONDAY 25th evening – Hammersmith
TUESDAY 26th evening – Worcester (Hiyam) and Northampton (Ruba)
WEDNESDAY 27th evening – Merton
THURSDAY 28th evening: Ruba will be on Maha’s Music (K2K radio, will send round the link) and Hiyam will be speaking at a meeting to build for a girls’ football visit from Abu Dis – this at Calthorpe Project in King’s Cross.
FRIDAY 29th evening – Islington
SATURDAY 30th – Join us in the morning for a Land Day protest (details follow)
Evening – with food, Raised Voices choir, oud music by Julia Aaisha, songs by Miriam, spoken word by Mimz and our Palestinian guests speaking. Ticketing info follows.
